[These past few days, Sonic's been enjoying all the different zones, but he's had something on his mind. And now he's taking the time to address the general population with a big question.

Well, big in his opinion.]

You know, cool as this place is, there's somethin' that's been bugging me for a while.

[He takes a bite of a chili dog.]

Anyone else seen doubles of people here? More than one version, I mean. Could've sworn I've seen at least two other hedgehogs juicin' around here, and they were all blue! Plus, I've seen at least two different Sals, and they were both totally different than the one I know.

It just feels like there's something fishy goin' on. Mondo fishy.

That's because the Sal I know is a princess! The one from my zone. We grew up together, and I wouldn't make something like that up.

[Her, a princess. Growing up with other freaks. Well. Just like this place, it was likely just a dream. A hollow, impossible dream that she'll eventually wake up from, and go back to the life she knows is her true lot.

She doesn't say it out loud, but it's definitely written on her grime-covered face.]

[Man, it's just so weird to think about. She may look like Sally, but she's so different.

For a few moments, Sonic's completely silent, just watching her with a frown.]

I know it's a lot to take in. And I don't expect ya to believe me, either. Guess it would be pretty weird to hear about...

You're right. I don't believe you. I just...can't. I've been the only one who looks like this since...since...ever. My parents are human. Everyone in Station Square - and Station Square is the entire world - is human.

How am I supposed to know I'm not just going to wake up at any moment?

[A beat. Maybe now's not the best time for humor.]

You're seriously the only Mobian out there? Man, that's gotta be rough.

[Yeah, Sally's not exactly in a joking mood. Sorry Sonic, nothing personal.

However, that question does get a sharp rebuke.]

I'm not a...'Mobian'. I'm human.

[To Sonic, she might sound like she's completely deluding himself, especially given that there was practically no way she could be anything but a Mobian. Maybe she is, but then again, this is the first time she's ever even heard of the word, and that shows as well. And maybe she really does believe what she says to be the truth.]

[Whether she believes it or not, it still boggles the hedgehog mind. He's never seen a Mobian in denial like this, especially Sally.

How's he even gonna...? Sigh.]

Would it really be so bad if you were? Mobian, human... that kinda stuff shouldn't matter. It's what's inside that really counts.
